I write this review, one of few, with sincerity. I met Omar many years ago, at a coffee shop hangout spot, over a game of backgammon; when I had hair. Unfortunately, he still has his! I was aware of Omar’s Family Business, a reputable excavation company, Earth Movers. At the time , 15 years ago, I didn’t understand why young Omar was working several jobs and not jumping in the growing family business. I imagined he wanted to make his own path. Eventually, with time, Omar joined his Father, working double overtime, both hands on at the job site and dealing with the business side of things. I saw him less and less, even when I did see hm at the coffee shop, he was often pasted out on the couch. Only a couple years ago I found out why Omar made the sudden change, over a convo about medication and my sisters leaky basement / foundation. His father, was in poor health and his condition was deteriorating. Fortunately, one of the job sites, was right by my sister’s house. The following day, I saw that yellow Truck, EARTH MOVERS, written on the side. Some other machines, I guess bobcat and mini-excavator … anyways they ended up digging up the side and front, right corner, patch, put that membrane hard rubber stuff; filled the area up, fixed the grading, in order for the water to flow away from the house; 1 Day! I was impressed but didn’t say it. The next day, they came got their machines and cleaned up like they were never there . I got to meet Adam the younger brother, Omar’s junior better business half. It’s been 3 + years and my sister’s basement is dry as a bone! Omar’s Father, rest in peace, recently passed away. Although, Omar has been running the show for the last few years: I noticed, with his father’s passing, Omar has been allocating the time he spent with and for his father, right back into the business; no breaks! I guess that’s his way of honouring his father. When contracting out big projects like demolish, excavation, sewer hookup, backfill, etc. You want to make sure you are working with a well established company that has an excellent reputation in their field. Earth Movers did not disappoint. They are very knowledgeable in their field and offered sound advice and guidance through the consultation stage. During demolition, excavation, sewer hookup and backfill, the Earth Mover crews were consistently professional, attentive and reliable. Work was done on-time, efficiently and every attention to detail was carefully executed. I strongly recommend Earth Movers if you are looking for professional results with a company that is very competitively priced.
